America faces a housing crisis, and tiny homes are a fundamental part of the solution. 

At its core, the genius of tiny homes is simple... Everyone needs a home. Period. But the current housing market leaves Americans without options to make that a reality. 

Insert tiny homes.  

Yet, the industry hadn’t taken off. The problem wasn’t that tiny homes weren’t a good idea, the problem was that they weren’t being done in a way that could truly change lives at scale. They were often impractical, poorly designed, difficult to permit, impossible to finance, or simply not built to appreciate. The promise was there, but the execution wasn’t.

That gap is why Cocoon Homes exists. 

Homeownership has become unattainable in much of the U.S. Families are stuck paying inflated rent instead of building equity. Adult children want to bring aging parents closer, but construction costs make it unrealistic. Others dream of a second home, a vacation property, or a smart real estate investment, yet traditional building costs shut the door before it ever opens. Developers want to build communities. Disaster survivors need immediate, dignified housing. The list goes on. 

In these situations, tiny homes aren’t a compromise. They’re the solution, but only when designed, built, and delivered the right way.

At Cocoon, we set out to make tiny homes a viable transformative option. We’ve created highly functional designs that make smaller living feel comfortable and intuitive. We’ve developed innovative solutions to make our homes attainable and easier to place on property. We’ve made monumental progress navigating government permitting. And we’ve worked to make financing possible, because a home that can’t be financed limits the lives it can change. 

One of my favorite moments happens when a client walks through a Cocoon tiny home for the first time. They come in curious, often skeptical, unsure if a tiny home could really work for them. Almost without fail, they pause, look around, and say, “Wow… this is way better than I expected.” In that moment, something shifts. They realize it’s not just possible. It’s real.
